Rosalind Nashashibi
From 29 November 2025, KM21 will present Stones: the first museum solo exhibition in the Netherlands by British-Palestinian artist Rosalind Nashashibi (1973). In her work, she explores collective histories, power structures and ways of living together. Nashashibi captures everyday, intimate moments in a personal way.
The film Electrical Gaza (2015) shows an enchanting, almost mythical Gaza. A rare view of a place that is now completely destroyed. Nashashibi mixes images of everyday life with animations and a hypnotic soundscape. Her new and recent paintings appear exuberant and surreal. They refer both to motifs from art history – such as swans, crosses and flowers – and to the grim political reality, with an image of a clenched fist or a reference to the refugee organisation UNRWA. Nashashibi's works – always with an open ending – make you look again and again.
