Jason Akira Somma

Because I Hate Technology

The CV of young artist Jason Akira Somma already lists some impressive names, like Lyon Opera Ballet, Walt Disney Imagineers, The Armory and the Guggenheim Museum. This New York-based interdisciplinary visual artist is known for pushing the boundaries in his work, linking technology, science, dance, performance and kinesthetics. This is his first solo museum presentation of his work as autonomous works of art.

GEM is also showing new holographic work that gives the visitor the opportunity to do what Somma is best known for: engaging in a physical interaction with the technology and intervening in the visual presentation.
